It has been shown over time and in research that there is a strong relationship between participation in competitive sporting activities and academic and personal development. Real outcomes include higher grades, better self-concept and character building on many levels. The platform of sport offer experiences of success and setbacks, working within a group while fostering individual creativity, commitment, and discipline. These factors were the inspiration for the establishment of The Hill Academy.

However, in the big picture, life lessons and preparation for the future are really what The Hill Academy is all about. Athletic, Academic and personal achievement is emphasized continuously. Character is first and foremost when we hire staff and grant admissions for our student athletes. Hill Student athletes are shoulder to shoulder with individuals with like-minded motivations. The chemistry is very special.

On Friday February 5th 2010, the Hill Pride Varsity Volleyball team played in a tournament at Victory Volleyball. Though there was some controversy going into the tournament, the girls put all of that aside and focused on their games. The team won all three pool play matches against Aquinas, CDDHS and Loretto College due to focus and determination. Because of the situation, the girls were not aloud to play in the championship pool resulting in being in the consolation pool. The girls won their game.
