About Jammer

Jamieson Kuhlmann, or Jammer as his friends knew him, was an extremely hard working and dedicated student-athlete at The Hill Academy. Jammer was tragically taken from us while playing the game he loved at the early age of 15. Jammer has left a legacy at our school that all students strive to achieve. Hard Work, Dedication and “No Excuses” were all traits that Jammer brought to the classroom, field and gym each and every day. Our students end each athletic session, whether it be in the gym, on the ice, on the court or on the field with a cheer of “4-5 HILL PRIDE” to honor Jammer and remind each of us what it takes to have success and improvement in life.

The Jamieson Kuhlmann Memorial Fund is a trust created in memory of Jamieson Kuhlmann who died as a result of a tragic accident during a lacrosse game in May, 2008. Jamieson was an exemplary member of The Hill Academy, being a dedicated, determined and hard working student and athlete. Jamieson possessed the courage, spirit, perseverance and work ethic that enabled him to become an outstanding student and athlete.

The Jamieson Kuhlmann Memorial Fund has been created to honour the life of Jamieson and to provide financial awards and scholarships to deserving student athletes at The Hill Academy who exhibit the continuance of Jamieson’s scholastic and athletic legacy. The primary objectives of the Fund will be to:

  • Provide assistance to students who meet both the admission requirements and who require financial assistance to attend The Hill Academy
  • Support the post secondary academic endeavours of a Hill Academy student who has demonstrated exemplary achievements, academically, personally and athletically. That student being the recipient of the annual Jamieson Kuhlmann Award
The value and number of award(s) and scholarship(s) will be determined annually by the parents of Jamieson Kuhlmann in consultation with the Principal and the Athletic Director of The Hill Academy. They will be awarded at the graduation ceremonies of The Hill Academy so long as funds remain in the Jamieson Kuhlmann Memorial Fund.
