Math & Humanities Teacher

1 Full time Math/Humanities Position

They embrace and leverage technology to support their practice and respect the academic, athletic, social and emotional challenges that each of our students face.

 

Start Date: Monday August 30, 2021

 

Contract: Full-Time

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor degree in at least one of the teaching areas

  • Experience teaching grade 9 math and/or geography, history, or other humanities courses

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree with Intermediate and Senior Divisional Qualifications is an asset

  • An Ontario College of Teachers Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in Ontario is an asset

  • Independent/private school experience is an asset

  • Special consideration is given to applicants who have experience supporting elite student-athletes and/or have experience as an elite athlete

  • An understanding and the ability to demonstrate the HILL values

  • Can demonstrate the ability to build relationships with students, parents and colleagues

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

  • A positive and asset focused attitude

  • Can vary instructional strategies to meet the needs of their students

  • Values the role that technology can play to support teaching and learning

  • Experience in applying engaging and student centred assessment and evaluation strategies that are grounded in the Growing Success framework

  • A demonstrated passion and commitment toward continued professional growth and development

  • Understands the challenges that faces the elite student-athlete

 

Compensation: commensurate with qualifications and experience.
