Teachers must:

  • Provide a safe, student-centred learning environment where students can think critically, collaborate, and acquire skills needed to be effective learners

  • Include Hy-Flex learning experiences

  • Use the Growing Success document to implement proper assessment and evaluation techniques for the academic program

  • Provide students with learning goals and success criteria in combination with descriptive ongoing feedback to allow students to have ownership and accountability to their learning

  • Be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Ontario Curriculum

The Hill is an independent day and boarding school (Grades K through 12, with an optional PG year). Located in Caledon ON, just 45 minutes north of the GTA, the campus sits on 134 acres of beautifully forested land. The new campus will offer students a state-of-the-art athletic training experience, with new gym facilities, running and hiking trails, turf field, exclusive off-site rink access, and an expansive boarding complex.

Teacher
Server​ (Contract Part-Time - 2 Positions)​

Reports to: Head Chef

Summary:

​

As a Server on our team, you’ll be responsible for serving food/drinks and assisting with other miscellaneous tasks.

 

Server Responsibilities 
Individual positions may not perform all of the duties listed nor do these examples include all responsibilities of this position

  • Serves food and beverage to Hill Academy students/staff

  • Maintains knowledge of menu items and all other offerings 

  • Maintains appearance and cleanliness of food service areas during meals 

  • Replenishes food and beverage product 

  • Provides excellent customer service

  • Breaks down and cleans/sanitizes food service areas, workstations, and equipment 

  • Maintains a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc. 

  • Adheres to Hill Academy safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation

Server Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a server or in food service role preferred 

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills 

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal 

  • Working knowledge of food safety principles and procedures 

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Bus Driver​ (Contract Part-Time/Occasional)​

Position Type: Part-Time, Occasional

Hill graduates have been placed in some of the world's most prestigious academic and athletic institutions, and many have gone on to become premier professional athletes in their sport. The Hill Academy is an ideal educational setting for students who are committed to academic striving and would like an opportunity to explore their respective sports in-depth.

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Occasional Bus Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in transporting students safely to and from school events, practices, and competitions, maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and professionalism.

​

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from The Hill Academy and related activities

  • Longer trips may required, with out-of-province/country travel a possiblity

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition

  • Adhere to schedules, routes, and school transportation policies

  • Promote and enforce safety rules while ensuring a positive environment for student-athletes on the bus

  • Communicate effectively with school administration, parents, and staff regarding transportation matters as needed

  • Maintain accurate records as required, including mileage, maintenance logs, and incident reports

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) requirements for school bus drivers:

  1. Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence:

    • A valid Class “B” or “E” licence is required.

    • Class “G” licence holders must complete training and testing to obtain a Class “B” or “E” licence prior to employment.

  2. Clean Driving Record:

    • A satisfactory driver’s abstract with no more than three demerit points and no major violations in the past three years.

  3. Medical Requirements:

    • Completion of a medical examination and submission of a Medical Report Form (SR-LC-042) certified by a qualified medical professional.

  4. Background Checks:

    • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (criminal record check) to ensure the safety of students.

  5. Training Requirements:

    • Completion of the Ministry-approved “School Bus Driver Improvement Course” for first-time applicants.

    • Ongoing compliance with MTO training and refresher programs as required.

  6. Experience:

    • Previous experience driving a school bus or similar large vehicle is an asset but not mandatory.

  7. Knowledge of Regulations:

    • Familiarity with Ontario Highway Traffic Act and safety regulations related to student transportation.
