Hello Hill Families,

This past week we welcomed both new and returning faculty members for a full week of professional development and collaborative planning to ensure we are well-prepared for the students' arrival this upcoming week. We are excited to kick things off with the students on Tuesday!


Orientation Week Schedule

During the first week of school, our primary focus will be on fostering a sense of community, solidifying our school culture, and smoothing the transition into this new academic year. Please see below for the schedule.


Monday:

Labour Day / Residence orientation


Tuesday:

First day of school; orientation activities in the morning, school- wide lunch, shortened classes in the afternoon.

Please note:

  • Students are permitted and encouraged to wear their Hill workout attire for the day, with proper running shoes.

  • Students are to be prepared to be both inside and outside, rain or shine.

  • ALL students will be provided a lunch from the school, regardless of if they are on the meal plan.

  • Secondary students will receive their timetables during lunch time.

  • Junior School students will receive their teacher assignments during lunch time.

  • Please bring:

  1. Laptop/ tablet/ chrome book that will be used in classes

  2. Water bottle with student's name on it

  3. Journal

Wednesday:

Shortened classes in the morning, and orientation activities in the afternoon.

Please note:

  • Students are permitted and encouraged to wear their Hill workout attire for the day, with proper running shoes.

  • Students are to be prepared to be both inside and outside, rain or shine.

  • Only students on the meal plan will receive a lunch. If not on the meal plan, students are to bring their own lunch.

Thursday:

A full and regularly scheduled school day. Coaches will communicate to their teams directly about whether the students will be practicing and if equipment is needed. There will be a school-wide assembly at 3:30pm.


Friday:

HILL day; modified student schedule in the morning, and all students will be bussed to Teen Ranch to watch the U18 Prep Hockey team vs. Academie Ste-Ceclie @ 1:00pm.


Pick up/Drop-off Times

School starts at 8:10am, and dismissal is 3:50pm. Please ensure pick up and drop-offs coincide with these times.


Junior School Supplies:

Uniforms:

Please see the dress code below or consult the apparel guide for ALL Hill student-athletes.

In Class:

  • Hill polo

  • Black or beige pants, shorts or skort

  • Students are permitted to wear a Hill hoodie, Hill crewneck sweatshirt, or Hill track jacket over their polo

  • Male student-athletes' shirts must be tucked into their pants with a belt

  • Pants/shorts/skort cannot be plaid, have cargo pockets, or be made of sweatsuit material

  • All shoes must be presentable, clean and professional looking

  • Crocs and slides are not permitted

  • Students are only permitted to wear their Hill track suit in class on Fridays. Both the pants and jacket must be in The Hill Academy uniform and worn with a Hill shirt.

In Physical Education:

  • Hill work-out shirt and shorts must be worn

  • Hill hoodie, Hill crewneck sweatshirt or Hill track jacket and track pants can be worn over top

Other:

  • Hats are not permitted at any time within the school buildings

  • Uniform items can be purchased here: Uniform store

  • Uniform apparel orders are to be picked up by Friday, September 1st.


Privit

New Students:

  • You will be required to create a profile and fill out all information

  • Please note that you will need to upload a Physicians note stating that you are fit to participate in sport that is within 6 months of the start of school

Returning Students:

  • You will need to login in and update your profile

*** Please note that this must be completed prior to the start of school. Failure to complete will delay sport participation. ***
