Hill Academy Volleyball

The Hill Academy Volleyball Program offers a clear, progressive pathway that prepares student‑athletes for success on the court, in the classroom, and beyond. In our first year, we will focus on holistic player development, building strong technical foundations while developing tactical understanding, physical readiness, and the mental skills athletes need to thrive.

Our curriculum combines deliberate, skill‑based practice with evidence‑based strength and conditioning. Student-athletes have the opportunity to train five times per week for 60 minutes and work daily with HillPride Performance to improve athleticism and reduce injury risk. Court sessions are position‑specific but always return to the fundamentals every elite player must master.

Student‑athletes also have on‑site access to sport psychology coaches and athletic therapists, ensuring mental skills training, injury prevention, and timely rehabilitation are integrated into each athlete’s plan.

Beyond on‑court work, student‑athletes receive one‑on‑one support for recruitment and academic planning, drawing on The Hill Academy’s strong relationships with post‑secondary programs across North America. With a history of NCAA and U SPORTS placements across Hill programs, we guide athletes through the pathway to university and beyond.

The Hill Volleyball Program pairs high‑level athletic development with The Hill Academy’s academic and character education, creating an environment that builds leadership, resilience, and lifelong skills.
COACHING STAFF

Dani Brisebois
Dani is a Hill Academy alum (2009/10–2011/12) returning to relaunch the school’s volleyball program as Director of Volleyball. After graduating from The Hill in 2012, she attended the University of British Columbia, where she won two national championships, captained the team to a title in her final year, and was named U SPORTS Tournament MVP and Canada West Female Athlete of the Year.

She represented Canada on the Junior National Team in 2012 and on the Senior National Team from 2014–2017, competing at the FISU Games, World Grand Prix / VNL, and NORCECA Cups. Dani then played professionally in Finland, Hungary, and Germany before transitioning into coaching.

As the head assistant coach at Queen’s University from 2021-2023, Dani helped guide the program to its best OUA playoff finish since 2011. She is currently an assistant coach for TMU's women's volleyball program. Dani brings elite playing experience and a proven coaching track record to The Hill, with a focus on technical excellence, tactical growth, and athlete mentorship.

Dani’s coaching philosophy is person‑first: master the fundamentals, build strong habits, and develop the whole athlete—on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. At The Hill, she will lead recruiting, develop the Grades 9–12 volleyball training curriculum, and work with the coaching team and Hill Pride Performance to improve student-athletes' volleyball IQ, mental strength, and physical foundation to support long‑term performance and injury prevention.
