NOVEMBER 15 - PROSPECT DAY #1

The Hill Academy Soccer Program provides student-athletes with a comprehensive development experience led by an experienced academy coaching staff.

In the program’s first year, the primary focus will be on player development; building the technical, tactical, physical, and mental foundations needed for long-term success. The program is designed for student-athletes in Grades 4–12 who are motivated to reach their next highest level of achievement within the sport.

Hill Soccer student-athletes will train daily through HillPride Performance, focusing on strength, conditioning, and overall athletic development. On-field sessions will emphasize technical skill refinement, decision-making, and tactical awareness under the guidance of knowledgeable coaches with extensive experience in high-performance and collegiate prep soccer environments.

Beyond training, student-athletes will receive individualized support and next-level guidance, benefiting from The Hill Academy’s established relationships with post-secondary programs across North America. With a proven track record of NCAA and U Sports placements, The Hill continues to help student-athletes navigate their pathway to university and beyond.

The Soccer Program’s holistic approach integrates high-level athletic development with The Hill Academy’s world-class private education and multi-sport programming. This environment encourages character development, leadership, and academic excellence, preparing student-athletes to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

Manny Corona

Manny Corona joins The Hill Academy after serving as Technical Director and Head Coach with Athlete Institute Football Club (AIFC), where he led high-performance programming and talent development across the club’s age groups. At AIFC Manny was the driving force behind elite pathway work in the GTA and Ontario, helping dozens of players progress to NCAA, U-SPORTS, professional and national-team opportunities.

A product of Ontario’s youth provincial and national programs, Manny enjoyed a decorated playing career — including a U-Sports national championship with Wilfrid Laurier University — and rounded out his playing days professionally in Peru. Those experiences inform his coach-first approach: technical mastery, competitive intelligence, and a clear pathway model for players aspiring to the next level.

At The Hill, Manny will work on the development curriculum for Grades 9–12 in the program’s first year, designing individualized development plans, lead coach education, and talent identification protocols. His emphasis is on measurable progression, improving technical moments, tactical decision-making, and match readiness, while working closely with Hill Pride Performance to integrate athletic development and long-term injury prevention.

DEVELOPMENT

The Hill Academy’s soccer program is built to develop complete athletes from the ground up. In its first year, the emphasis is on growth — sharpening technical skills, deepening tactical awareness, and building the physical and mental strength needed to compete at a high level. Our athletes train in a supportive, high-performance environment where effort, focus, and teamwork are at the core of everything they do.

The Hill Soccer will follow the Four-Corner Model of Development with integration of technical/tactical, physical, psychological and social aspects of player development. Each corner interacts dynamically, influencing how players learn, perform and enjoy the game. Emphasis embodies The Hill Academy's core value of character development, focusing on whole person development.

As the program takes shape, our vision extends beyond individual development. The Hill is laying the foundation for a varsity soccer team that spans all high school grades, creating a unified group of players who represent the school’s values of commitment and excellence. Each training session, match, and classroom moment contributes to that goal, preparing our student-athletes to lead both on the field and within their community.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

The school day is a little longer at The Hill, but what the extra time affords your student-athlete is the ability to have their complete day of academic classes (following the Ontario Curriculum), a sport period to focus on their passion, and an age/skill appropriate workout period led by the HillPride Performance team.

Below is a sample schedule of what your time at The Hill could look like. This specific example walks you through a week at the High School level, with soccer specific training, daily physical education and all of the academic requirements to keep you on track to graduate following the Ontario Curriculum.
