Caledon, ON [September 18, 2024] - A historic week for members of The Hill Lacrosse coaching staff and The Hill Academy Alumni, that began with the PLL End of Season Awards, followed by the PLL's Cash App Championship, and wrapped up with the 2024 NLL Draft Presented by Castore. The busy weekend sees no rest as many athletes now prepare for the World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, New York, which will feature a Women's Box Championship to be contested for the first-time ever.
The Hill Academy Alumni and now Head Coach of both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams, Jeff Teat was a busy guy at the PLL End of Season Awards on Friday night at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, PA. After setting the single-season points record (64 points) and leading the league in both goals (28) and assists (36), Teat was honoured with both the Eamon McEneaney Attackman of the Year and the Jim Brown Most Valuable Player awards. The Hill Academy mentions of the evening weren't done with Teat though, as his New York Atlas teammate Tyler Carpenter was the recipient of the Brodie Merrill Long-Stick Midfielder of the Year award, named after The Hill Academy's Athletic Director.
Subaru Park in Philadelphia, PA played host to the PLL Cash App Championship on Sunday, featuring the Maryland Whipsnakes and the defending champion Utah Archers. The Hill Academy was well represented by the Whipsnakes Adam Poitras and the Archers Brett Dobson, Dyson Williams and Graeme Hossack. Dobson made 17 saves on his way to becoming the first-ever two-time PLL Cash App Championship Game MVP. Dobson recently joined Hossack and Teat as part of The Hill Lacrosse Coaching Staff.
