Seven Hill Alumni Selected in NLL Draft

The Hill Academy congratulates the seven newest Hill Alumni to join the National Lacrosse League

Caledon, ON - September 8, 2025 - The Hill Academy would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all players and families selected over the past weekend in the National Lacrosse League's entry draft, acknowledging the hard work and dedication these athletes have endured to reach this point of their esteemed lacrosse careers.

The NLL Draft featured seven selections of Hill Alumni:

• Coltrane Tyson - Round 2 Pick 21 - Buffalo Bandits

• Isiah Moran-Weekes - Round 3 Pick 35 - Toronto Rock

• Aidan Fearn - Round 4 Pick 53 - Ottawa Black Bears

• Kobe Handsor - Round 5 Pick 63 - Toronto Rock

• Greg Elijah-Brown - Round 5 Pick 69 - Ottawa Black Bears

• Zach Richards - Round 6 Pick 82 - FireWolves Lacrosse Club

• Clifford Gaston - Round 6 Pick 85 - Rochester Knighthawks

The journey for these student-athletes include a unique part of The Hill Academy's history, which included a global pandemic and a move from the Vaughan campus to the Hill's current home at the Caledon campus. Despite the uniqueness of that time, the focus of The Hill's student-athletes remains Academic Excellence, Character Development and Athletic Pursuit. Preparation for each of them to reach their next highest level of achievement was paramount and Director of Lacrosse, Brodie Merrill feels this shines through with this group.

"It's always a proud moment for our program and our entire school community, when we see our players reach the highest level of their sport." said Brodie Merrill, Director of Lacrosse at The Hill Academy. "This group of alumni are not only great players, but great people, and I'm sure they will make a great impact."

On Wednesday, September 10 The Hill Lacrosse's Prep team will open the 2025-26 season under the guidance of Head Coach Jeff Teat, with an exhibition game against the Western University Men's Lacrosse Team at 7:00PM on Legacy Field at The Hill Academy's Caledon Campus. Hill families, lacrosse fans and the local community are invited to come cheer on the Hill Pride. The Hill Academy is located at 20490 Porterfield Rd., Caledon, ON, L7K 1S7.
