FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Caledon, ON - October 29, 2025 – The Hill Academy, Canada’s leader in education and sport development, proudly announces the official launch of The Hill Academy Soccer, extending the school’s commitment to holistic student-athlete growth by expanding into the world’s most popular sport.
The Hill Academy Soccer program will offer a high-performance environment for high school-aged student-athletes, focused on long-term development, technical growth, and academic balance. The program will operate on both the boys and girls sides, directed by Manny Corona and Maddie Hill, respectively. Training and performance will take place at The Hill’s own Legacy Field and Hill Pride Performance Gym, leveraging the same facilities that have helped produce top talent across The Hill's existing sport offerings.
"The launch of our soccer program is an exciting next step in helping athletes reach their next highest level," said Drazen Glisic, Director of Athlete Development. "We believe sport is a laboratory for life. Sport is a space where discipline, resilience, and teamwork prepare our students for success far beyond the field."
The Hill Academy, approaching its 20th anniversary in 2026, has built an impressive legacy of alumni success. Each year, the school helps some of the top athletes in their sport reach new heights, including advancement to NCAA and U Sports programs. More than 100 alumni have gone on to serve as captains of their NCAA teams, many have been drafted and are playing professionally, and, perhaps most notably, numerous graduates have represented their countries at World Championships and even the Olympics. Throughout all of the Alumni success, The Hill Academy has been building a roadmap to help young athletes reach their next highest level of achievement, whether they are in kindergarten, high school, or any grade in between.
"Our mission is to build a pathway where development and competition complement each other," said Manny Corona, The Hill Soccer Boys Coach. "We want to ensure that every athlete who joins The Hill environment grows in confidence, ability, and character."
Maddie Hill, Head of the Girls Program, added, “We’re creating a place for female soccer players to thrive, where strong academics are paired with a soccer curriculum that accelerates their development under coaches with expertise in developing the next generation of talent. This program is built to support post-secondary ambitions and future opportunities in the sport, aligning with The Hill Academy’s commitment to excellence and high-performance pathways.”
The Hill Soccer will emphasize individual skill development and tactical understanding regardless of club affiliation, ensuring that all student-athletes have access to the tools they need to succeed at the next level. Although focused on individual skill development, the character required to be a good teammate will be ever present. In year one of the program the focus of the program will be to grow a development group that can evolve into a team to compete at the high school varsity level.
Additionally, a development soccer program will be available from grade 4 - 12 for those who are also competing for an outside club, but want to benefit from The Hill’s world-class private education and daily, individualized, physical education that is appropriate to each student-athlete’s age and ability. Both Coach Hill and Coach Corona will be involved with designing the soccer studies at The Hill, including those covered through the Foundations of Sport program which works to promote a lifelong love of sport through multiple sports.
