News for the week of September 10, 2023

September 10th, 2023

Hello Hill Families,

The first week of the 2023-24 school year has come to a close, marking a historical start with a few noteworthy milestones:

  • Early Years Program Launch: We proudly inaugurated our Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes, ushering in a new era of learning and growth.

  • U14 AAA Hockey Team Debut: Our inaugural U14 AAA Hockey team kicked off their season.

  • HILL Day: School pride was on full display watching our Prep Hockey team earn a win in their first game of the season.

  • Record Enrolment: This year, we welcomed our largest number of students to date.

The contrast between the palpable nervous excitement on Tuesday morning, as nearly 100 new students joined our community, and the positive energy by Friday was evident. As Hill staff, our aim for this week was to foster the sense of belonging within our school community, and establish our HILL expectations for the year.

Every Hill student-athlete is brave. Pursuing and committing to your goals requires courage and our student-athletes are commended for taking this first leap in attending The Hill. This school year will pose challenges, and we hope that the Hill family and our core values will serve as both motivation and support. In times of adversity, we encourage our students to lean on our dedicated staff and their peers, and these four standards. I encourage you to talk with your student about the meaning of HILL and what each value means to them.

Let’s dive into our first week with a full schedule with the same energy and excitement as week 1!

Sincerely,

Tory Merrill

Principal
