The Hill Academy Celebrates Nine Student-Athletes Selected in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Caledon, ON [April 16, 2024] - The Hill Academy congratulates nine student-athletes on their selection in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft presented by Real Canadian Superstore. The Hill's draft class is headlined by six selections in the first three rounds, including three first rounders.

The OHL Priority Selection Draft is an annual event that dates back to the late 1960's, and is typically based on reverse order of the overall regular season standings beginning with non-playoff teams.

"This is such an exciting time for each of these student-athletes to celebrate alongside their family, friends and the Hill family," said The Hill Academy's Director of Hockey, Ryan Toomey. "This is a testament to how hard they have worked, and we're thrilled to see them reach their next highest level of achievement. The real work starts now though, and as excited as I was to see them drafted, I was even more proud to see them back in the gym this morning."

With three selections in the first round, this year's draft class is one of the more prolific in recent history for The Hill Academy. The nine student-athletes that were selected have the distinct advantage of a balanced schedule that includes a full academic program, while also completing hockey training, leadership development and individualized performance training, delivered by sports scientists, sports psychologists and caring and dedicated teachers. Many of these student athletes have been with the Hill throughout their developmental years, attending the school from Grade 5 on.
